Dow Jones Postpones Global Dow as Index Providers Weigh Strategies

The index, announced by Dow Jones parent News Corporation's chairman and chief executive Rupert Murdoch in August, was originally scheduled to launch on Sept. 23, and was designed to track the performance of a diverse basket of stocks, including companies from emerging markets such as India, and emerging industries such as alternative energy.
