NYSE Submits Proposal For Look-At-The-Book Information To The Sec

In a proposed rule change submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 18, the New York Stock Exchange outlined its "Look-at-the-Book" information service that it plans to make available to market data vendors for distribution to investors. The rule change would offer investors a periodic "peek" at the NYSE's limit order book in a bid by the exchange to disseminate that information more widely.

But some industry observers have criticized the conditions outlined in the NYSE's
