SYDNEY--Australian Associated Press (AAP), once a dominant market data provider in Australia, is looking to exit the business almost entirely. Industry sources say its equity-oriented Australian Market Quote (AMQ) business is up for sale.
Following AAP's acrimonious split with Reuters at the start of 1996, it became apparent that a new era of competition was set to fuel the Australian market data business. Market sources say that AAP is virtually marginalized in its original business of selling
