Reuters Applies XML To Its News Services Introducing NewsML

LONDON--A customer-led consortia under the guise of the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC), working closely with Reuters, has applied the Extensible Markup Language (XML) standard to news distribution resulting in the creation and adoption of the NewsML scheme, expected to be ready for use in Q1 2000.
