UBS Sets Task Force To Cut Data Costs, Targets Telekurs

The Union Bank of Switzerland has formed a task force to cut back its market data costs. One of the first consequences of the global initiative is that the bank has decided to look for ways to depend less heavily on Telekurs, the Zurich-based market data vendor in which UBS has a partial stake.

In shifting away from Telekurs, UBS is reacting to what a source at UBS calls Telekurs' "strange pricing policy" for its Investdata Networked Service (IDRV) data feed. Telekurs changes an interrogation fee
