Nymex Builds for Wireless Data
EXCHANGE WATCH
The New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) has built the capability to distribute real-time market data to Research In Motion (RIM) Blackberry wireless devices using a platform developed by San Francisco-based Kenamea.
But upper management has yet to "pull the trigger" and green-light the project because they are concerned about creating a service that would compete with commercial vendors such as Reuters and Thomson, says Nymex chief information officer Sean Carrington.
