LSE Re-enters Market Data Terminal Business

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has re-entered the market data terminal business with the acquisition of UK-based vendor Proquote. LSE was one of the main players in the UK market with its Topic market data terminal and feed until it sold them to data vendor ICV in 1994 (IMD, Jan. 13, 1995).

With the purchase of Proquote, the LSE will be able to offer customers real-time and delayed data and direct access to trading on its markets through Proquote’s Internet-based product, which will be branded
