MIAC Rolls Database With Price Updates For MSR Contracts

Mortgage Industry Advisory Corp., based in New York, will introduce a database next month over the Internet to enable mortgage originators to price their mortgage servicing rights (MSR) portfolios. MIAC claims this is the first database of its kind and that currently, if a mortgage originating bank wants to value its MSR portfolio, it has to rely on outside servicing brokers who typically take up to three weeks to return the data. Or, a bank can use an application suite, such as MIAC's own
