Reuters Announces 1998 Earnings By Region For The Last Time
EARNINGS REPORT
LONDON--Reuters reported its 1998 year-end results for the last time in geographical regions; the first interim report of 1999 will reflect the organizational changes by reporting along product lines.
Reuters' total revenue for 1998 was £3,032 million compared with £2,882 million in 1997. This was an increase of five per cent, but as always, exchange rates distorted the figures. At comparable rates of exchange, Reuters experienced a growth rate of nine per cent.
