Reuters Sheds First Web in Japan

Reuters Japan is replacing Reuters First Web, its product for branches of securities firms around Japan, with a new real-time service from Tokyo-based news and market data firm Jiji Press. The service will include Reuters content. "First Web users will be migrated to the new Jiji service," Eddie Haddad, senior operating officer for Reuters Japan in Tokyo, tells IMD. "We have several thousand users of First Web and we have contacted or are in the process of contacting all the major users."
