Pru-Bache's 10,000-Position Retail System Contract Is Arts' To Lose


In what may lead to a contract for one of the largest brokerage information system installations in recent memory, Prudential-Bache Securities Inc. has opted to pilot a retail distribution system from American Real-Time Services Inc. (ARTS). ARTS was selected over a host of products from other systems designers, and if the ARTS package makes it through the pilot, it will be the core software in Pru-Bache's planned rollout of approximately 10,000 UNIX-based brokerage workstations for the firm's
