DJ Picks Up MarketWatch

Dow Jones & Co. announced last week that it is buying MarketWatch, a provider of business news, financial information and analytical tools, for about $519 million (see On Balance, this issue).

Although MarketWatch has several initiatives aimed at financial services professionals, Dow Jones will use the company to target the mass market.
