Commodities trading units of Salomon Brothers Inc. and Goldman Sachs & Co. are competing to sell software to Mexico City-based PMI Comercio Internacional S.A. de C.V. (PMI). The firm is weighing the relative merits of decision- support, deal-capture and risk-management software from the mc2 Technologies Inc. unit of Salomon's Phibro Energy Inc. and from Goldman's J. Aron & Co.
