Salomon Brothers' plan to install a 700-position key telephone system built by Contel IPC is off, industry sources say. Neither Salomon nor Contel IPC would comment for the record, but sources say that longstanding Salomon equipment-supplier V Band Inc. is now the front runner to win the site -- the largest trader turret installation in North America in the last several years.
