Natwest Drops Reuters' Triarch 2000; Workstation Flunks Performance Tests


National Westminster Bank has rescinded its letter of intent to install a 400-position TRIARCH 2000 system at new offices in London, throwing into serious doubt Reuters Holdings PLC's digital data distribution systems strategy for the 1990s. The setback raises questions about whether Reuters' Rich Inc. subsidiary can successfully make the transition from video-switch manufacturer to digital systems integrator.

The NatWest installation was to be Reuters' first for its upgraded TRIARCH delivery
