NEW YORK--The Brut-Strike merger has been finalized--finally--and Brut president Brian Hyndman believes the stage is set for the venture to offer serious competition to other ECNs. At the top of Hyndman’s list are broker/dealer Redibook, Island ECN, which has applied to the Securities and Exchange Commission to become an exchange, and Archipelago, which is on the verge of exchange status through its merger with the Pacific Stock Exchange.
