Optimark's Delays Not The Real Issue; CSFB Is More Concerned With Service

NEW YORK--While delays have caused them concern, the firms that have signed on to go live with the Optimark Trading System are seemingly more worried by the features of the system.

Michael Clark, managing director and head of equity trading at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) (an Optimark investor), says, "I don't think timing is a big thing." Rather, he's worried about the system itself. "My feeling is that Optimark is too complex and cumbersome to use efficiently and effectively," Clark says.
