In a stunning turn of events, Citicorp subsidiary Quotron Systems Inc. is set to conclude an agreement with Chapdelaine and Co., giving it exclusive rights to market and distribute the Chapdelaine Automated Trading System (CHATS), as well as exclusive redistribution rights to CHATS prices, sources close to the negotiations say. CHATS is an automated interdealer trading system for Treasury securities, and an arm's-length subsidiary of Chapdelaine, a privately held interdealer broker.
