Bugs Delay Nymex Launch Of Access System Until June

PROPRIETARY EXECUTION

The New York Mercantile Exchange's Access futures and options order-matching system -- expected to make its debut this month (TST, March 8) -- was delayed a month as a result of bugs in certain of its software components. The system is now slated for a June 24 start.

"I found things I didn't expect," says Nymex's Steve Daffron, senior vice president of strategic planning for Access and information services. Daffron headed the exchange's efforts to develop and test Access.

Daffron says that testing
