ISE Coming March 24 With Electronic Options Exchange

NEW YORK--After receiving the Securities and Exchange Commission's blessing as the first new exchange in 27 years, the International Securities Exchange (ISE) is set to begin operations of the first electronic options market on March 24.

ISE will combine screen-based trading with auction market principles and plans to eventually trade 600 of the most active options classes. The SEC says in a press statement that even before ISE begins operations it has had a positive effect on the market. Since
