CIBC TO MERGE NY TRADING FLOORS

Institutional investment firm CIBC World Markets is to merge its two New York trading floors into one midtown Manhattan location. The existing downtown and midtown locations will be moved to a high-rise on 42nd Street that is yet to be built. The company says the move may be as many as four years away. CIBC also says it is too premature to discuss what trading technology will be implemented at the new site.
