Sydney-based Macquarie Bank this month will begin deploying a 190-position Reuters Holdings PLC Triarch 2000 digital data distribution platform, replacing a home-grown Sun Microsystems Inc.-based data delivery system. As part of its upgrade project, Macquarie will also oust about one-fifth of its Sun workstations--a hardware platform the bank has used since 1987--in favor of Intel Corp. 486- and Pentium-based PCs.
