NEW YORK--The honeymoon for trading firms and Linux is showing no signs of slowing down as evidenced by the stories of several user firms who attended Linux World in New York last week.
Some are planning dramatic steps.
In a major move away from Sun Microsystems, sources at Computer Associates say that Salomon Smith Barney (SSB) is in the middle of migrating applications from Sun boxes to mainframes. Officials at SSB decline comment. Sun officials did not return inquiries by press time.
