Outside the equities world, where the Nasdaq-ECN clash took center stage in 2002, electronic trading of other asset classes continued to develop, albeit with some fits and starts.The number of bond trading platforms in the US and Europe increased from 78 in 2001 to 81 in 2002, according to the Bond Market Association (BMA)’s annual "eCommerce in the Fixed-Income Markets" survey. There were 13 new names in the 2002 annual survey, while 11 names were not carried over from 2001 to 2002.
