Honorable Mention: Connectivity: FIX Gains Ground in Fixed Income, Derivatives

TRADING TECHNOLOGY WEEK ANNUAL REVIEW 2003

NEW YORK--The backers of the Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol for streamlining automated interactions between sell- and buy-side firms had one of its best years ever in terms of breaking new ground.

In spite of a slow start in 2003, the FIX Protocol Limited (FPL) led the way and helped open new venues for FIX in fixed income, derivatives and possibly foreign exchange (FX) trading (see story page 17).

The new year started with the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA)
