NYMEX Declines Globex Membership, Contracts TMI And AT&T For After-Hours Trading System

The New York Mercantile Exchange last week reached preliminary agreement with Task Management Inc. (TMI) and AT&T to build an electronic after-hours trading system -- internally dubbed Access -- for futures and options on futures in energy, palladium and platinum contracts. NYMEX's decision to build its own automated trading system appears to quash the Globex partners' hopes of luring the New York exchange onto their long-delayed trading system, at least for the time being.
