BT's Global VPN Supports Traders' Hot Line Calls
TRADING ROOM NETWORKS
Bankers Trust Co. is in the midst of a global rollout of a virtual private network to handle long distance telephone and fax communication between nearly all of the bank's 1,750 traders and their counterparties, among other things. Outside the trading room, the VPN also supports internal video conferencing on the desktop for managing directors and remote access via PCs and networks for corporate customers. The VPN supports most of Bankers Trust's 14,000 employees.
