UNX Upgrades Back-End Services

FRONT PAGE: CONNECTIVITY

BURBANK, Calif.—Direct-access broker UNX is enhancing its back-end capabilities in anticipation of market structure changes, officials tell DWT.

UNX will be adding routing to a number of new U.S. exchanges, and has struck an alliance with Portware, by which that vendor's clients can use UNX's algorithms and create their own.

With the release of version 2.2 of UNX's main software, MetaBook, later this summer, customers will be able to apply sweeping and tactical algorithms to all the U.S. exchanges
