With a large domestic market and few windows to entry, China's stock exchanges have long been considered one of the last, and most promising, frontiers of investment opportunity in Asia. As direct market access (DMA) spreads quickly throughout the rest of the region, brokerages are looking for opportunities to connect to China's biggest exchanges, their eyes on possible regulatory changes down the line.
