Nasdaq Tackles Index Halt
As the previous issue of Inside Market Data went to press on Friday, Jan. 28, Nasdaq OMX experienced an outage on its Global Index Data Service (GIDS), affecting dissemination of its Nasdaq and PHLX indexes.
The exchange began disseminating data from its backup calculator for some indexes, and fully restored GIDS later that morning, but suspended dissemination of the Nasdaq OMX Green Indexes. The exchange has not yet announced the cause of the problems.
