LEI to Be Hard Work, But ‘Well-Worth It,' Say Panellists
To ensure the introduction of a global legal entity identifier (LEI) becomes a success, market participants will have to do some heavy-lifting, said speakers at Inside Reference Data’s North American Financial Information Summit in New York in May.
Panelists said there is no easy answer to how to identify all entities and implement the new identifier globally. New York-based Peter Serenita, global head of data management, HSBC, said the introduction process will have to include a manual piece.
