"It's a joint responsibility, whatever the contractual terms and requirements," said Tara Castleberry, vice president of enterprise data management and program delivery at AIG. "But when it comes to data quality and data inside your firm, I think your data quality team has responsibility for that. So you have to determine the requirements for each provider," especially when determining the custodian of non-traditional data, such as user-defined datasets and information not in the public domain.
