Finra CAT Lays Out Security Plans

Finra CAT will lean heavily on AWS to help ensure that the database is secure.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (Finra), which was named the plan processor for building the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) in February, laid out its planned security measures for the database as the December testing period nears.

The CAT will have dedicated security analysts, multifactor authentication for reporting firms, threat detection capabilities, and encryption for data at rest, as well as for communications in transit.
