SIX, ViaNexus build market data platform to unite data consumers, producers
The assets that formerly comprised IEX Cloud will underpin a new market data platform that hopes to give SIX Group and its data consumers a closer, more controlled relationship.
A lot can happen in a year. In the last days of August of last year, Tim Baker, at the time three years past a stint as head of IEX Cloud, and Pedro Aguayo, his former colleague from the exchange-owned data marketplace, joined forces to submit a last-minute bid for the platform’s assets before it was shut down by IEX.
With the help of a silent partner, the trio successfully inked a deal just 48 hours before the offering expired. At the time, Baker told WatersTechnology that, barring a name change
