FTSE Makes ICB Changes to Support Growth, Industry Change

FTSE Russell, index provider, to roll out series of updates to ICB standard for end of 2018.

The changes include: making Real Estate its own industry, separate from the ICB Financials industry segment; moving Telecoms Equipment and Cable Television Services into its Telecommuncations Industry, from the Technology Industry and Media Sector, respectively; renaming the ICB Oil and Gas Industry as Energy, with companies grouped under Renewable or Non-Renewable Energy sectors; adding 57 sub-sectors and definitions, bringing total sub-sectors to 171; and redesigning the ICB numeric code to
