Interactive Data Corp. Strikes Again

Interactive Data Corp. announced its latest acquisition this week: it's buying futures, commodities and foreign exchange data specialist FutureSource. Our first thought: IDC obviously wants to win Inside Market Data's Acquisition of the Year award for the third year running.

But IDC probably has another motivation: getting into the futures market. The always-hungry company has a talent for tracking trends, and it looks like it's made another good bet.

The deal will do more than simply fill content
