Data Governance Plan Pays off for SocGen

COPENHAGEN - French bank Societe Generale is creating a global data management division in a multi-year-long project to improve cost efficiency and reduce operational risk, according to a speaker at the Copenhagen Financial Information Summit in March.

The data governance project, which started two years ago and is still ongoing, has provided the firm with an overview of the total cost of data and better opportunities to launch new products that require centralized data support.
