Banco Santander has joined Swift's Know Your Customer (KYC) Registry, which provides correspondent banks with a standard set of qualified data and documentation to meet KYC obligations.

"This Swift initiative will help Santander Group to comply with the KYC requirements in a more trustworthy, efficient and effective way," says Stéphanie Rodríguez Aniorté, head of global product IFI – GTB at Banco Santander. "The standardization of processes and the creation of a ‘unique repository' will allow the FI teams to focus on business growth that is compliant."

Swift's KYC Registry includes 1,470 financial institutions in 176 countries, according to the organization.
