Goldman exec: Dec. 6 a ‘lighthouse’ for EU T+1 readiness

Officials from JP Morgan, the European Central Bank, the National Securities Depository, and Goldman Sachs explained how T+1 preparation needs to be different in the EU than in the US, while speaking at Sibos.

While October 11, 2027, will mark the start of T+1 settlement in the European Union (and the UK, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein), Goldman Sachs’ Sachin Mohindra says December 6, 2026, will be just as important for firms to note.

On that day, brokers and clients in the EU will be mandated to have improved allocations and confirmations set up and able to meet a deadline of 11 pm CET on trade date.
