Second, we need to bear in mind that life goes on regardless of how challenging the operating environment might be. I know it's a truism and a cliché rolled into one, but it's none-the-less pertinent, given the fact we have little option but to plough on regardless.

From our industry's perspective, there's been enormous change in a short space of time, but as much as things have changed in buy-side land, things have also stayed the same: NAVs have shrunk alarmingly, investors have become more
