New Era of Networks (Neon) introduced XML support for its joint middleware offering with IBM, called the MQSeries Integrator. Neon chose XML because it was easier to use and more dynamic than Swift, according to Adam Jack, Neon's vice president of technology. Neon also announced EDI adapters to provide a gateway for getting data into and out of an integration server for applications that use XML (Dec. 6, 1999).
