Central Asia to Gain New Exchange

The new venture, headquartered in Almaty, Kazakhstan, is 60 percent owned by the Russian Trading System Stock Exchange (RTS) and 40 percent owned by Regional Financial Center of Almaty City (RFCA), with the total authorized capital of $533,000, say officials.

The exchange will serve as a trading floor for spot and derivatives trading in commodities. Initial trading will commence in wheat and fuel futures. However, a local commodity index and index-linked futures contracts will be rolled out
