Nasdaq Takes 15% Stake in LSE

NEW YORK—While the Nasdaq Stock Market failed to acquire the London Stock Exchange (LSE) lock, stock and barrel weeks ago, the U.S. exchange did manage to get an important chunk of it last week.

In a surprise move, Nasdaq acquired 35,404,265 shares, equivalent to 13.8 percent of the LSE, from Threadneedle Asset Management Ltd.
