ISE Launches an Equities Market

NEWS ANALYSIS

NEW YORK—The International Securities Exchange (ISE) last week formally announced a move into the equities market with the launch of the ISE Stock Exchange, an evolution that ISE officials and analysts view as a natural progression for the electronic equity options exchange.

The venture will be primarily funded by a $32 million investment from seven broker-dealers: Bears Stearns, Citadel Derivatives Group, Deutsche Bank, Interactive Brokers Group, JPMorgan, Knight Capital Group, and Sun Trading.
