BOX Weighs Possible Platform Migration
Currently, the options exchange operates its trading platform on AMD Opteron-powered Sun Microsystems servers running the Solaris operating system (OS), according to John Goode, CIO for BOX.
"We are going to be looking at expansion within the Sun family and expansion outside the Sun family," says Goode. "One of the things that we do want to take a good look at in 2008 is the Linux operating system," he adds.
