BATS Europe Changes Tick Size, Promotes Harmonization

On Monday, June 15, BATS Europe will adopt new tick sizes-based on the "Table 1" schedule from the Federation of European Securities Exchanges-for eight FTSE 100 component stocks, five Italian stocks and all of the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian stocks traded on its platform.

FESE's Table 1 schedule determines tick sizes based on the price at which a stock is traded. For example, stocks that trade at less than 0.5 units of a currency would have a tick size corresponding to 0.0001 units of that
