Reuters' 2Q Growth In Core Business Remains Steady

Reuters posted a 6 per cent growth rate in its core information products business for the second quarter of 1997, the same rate it reported in the first quarter. The rate excludes the effects of currency fluctuations; at actual exchange rates, revenue in Reuters' core business was down 4 per cent in the second quarter due to the impact of the strong pound.

The vendor also reported sales of 24,300 accesses for its new 3000 products, of which 10,600 have been installed. Reuters is targeting 30,000
