Nasdaq Algo Feed Slashes Latency

Nasdaq has achieved its goal of reducing latency and bandwidth with OrderView, a new datafeed for algorithmic trading, according to William O'Brien, senior vice president of market data distribution at Nasdaq.

OrderView which began beta testing with clients last week, contains essentially the same data as Nasdaq's TotalView datafeed. However, it has eliminated extraneous data such as market maker identifiers, control messages, and imbalance information from the opening cross. O'Brien confirms
