Calculating a fixed-income price can be a tricky business. Bonds are unlike equities, which trade on organized exchanges; the vast majority trade over the counter. There are no opening and closing prices, no listed bids and offers, and no single central marketplace for funds to use when evaluating the fixed-income portion of their portfolio.
