Knight-Ridder Sale To Welsh Carson Expected This Week

It's not over 'til it's over, but as IMD was going to press, it appeared that an announcement of the sale of Knight-Ridder Financial to Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe was imminent. Sources say that a deal was agreed to about 10 days ago and that the contracts were in the hands of lawyers. Barring any unforeseen hitches, the agreement should be made public this week, they say.
Although there were "no comments" all around, several sources suggest the purchase price that the two had settled on was
